OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Top-seeded Stevenson University scored the game's first 10 goals en route to a 22-7 win over No. 4 seed Lycoming College in a MAC Commonwealth Men's Lacrosse Championship semifinal Wednesday night at Mustang Stadium.

The Mustangs (11-6) extended their win streak to seven games as they advanced to the MAC Commonwealth title game for the sixth time in six seasons in the league and will seek their sixth straight conference title.  Dating back to reaching five straight Capital Athletic Conference title games from 2008-12, Stevenson has appeared in 11 straight conference title contests.

Stevenson will host third-seeded Widener, a 12-9 winner over No. 2 Messiah, Saturday night at 7:00 pm at Mustang Stadium.  The Mustangs hosted the Pride last Friday and held off a late run for an 11-10 victory.

Lycoming (10-7) was making its first MAC Commonwealth Championship appearance since 2014.

Senior Kyle Karsian scored for the Mustangs just 34 seconds into the game as they built a 7-0 lead after one quarter, outshooting the Warriors 18-4.  Freshman Jacob Tatum opened the second quarter scoring just 33 seconds into the frame, and a tally by sophomore Ethan Christensen with 10:48 left in the first half extended Stevenson's lead to 10-0.  Travis Rode got Lycoming on the board at the 10:23 mark of the second, before back-to-back Christensen goals and a JT Thelen score made it 13-1. 

The Mustangs carried a 14-3 lead into halftime and led 17-7 after three quarters.

Stevenson outshot Lycoming 63-29, with Mustang sophomore goalie Sam Ross making nine saves in 53:37 before giving way to Marc Poust, who recorded four stops. Warrior counterpart Michael Tennant turned aside eight shots before giving way to Tim O'Connor early in the fourth.  O'Connor posted five saves.  Sophomore Justin Burnette won 22-of-29 faceoffs as Stevenson held a 24-8 advantage at the X, with Burnette also picking up 15 ground balls.

Christensen finished with eight goals and a pair of assists, finishing one shy of the single-game program record for goals in a game.  Thelen tallied six goals and an assist to move him to 62 goals on the season, tied for the second most by a Mustang in a single season with Mark Pannenton, who had 62 in 2013.  Senior Harrison Faecher finished with three goals and a pair of assists.

Senior Tom Brown had three caused turnovers defensively and picked up three ground balls

Tyler Thompson led Lycoming with two goals and two assists.
