Men’s Lacrosse breaks multiple program records with 36-2 win over Albright

READING, Pa. – The Stevenson men's lacrosse team (2-7 overall, 1-0 MAC Commonwealth) delivered a record-breaking performance in a 36-2 victory over Albright on Saturday. The 36 goals set a new program record for goals in a single game, surpassing the previous mark of 34 set against Albright in 2024. The 34-goal margin of victory also stands as the largest in program history.

The Mustangs erupted for 12 first-quarter goals to take a commanding 12-0 lead. Max Racich recorded a hat trick in the opening frame, while Darrell Curtis added two goals. Peyton LaRocco, Alexander Wilson, Camden Deming, Connor Dunay, Dominic Eckles, and Hunter Bryant each found the back of the net.

Stevenson continued its offensive surge in the second quarter, adding nine more goals. Brennan McKneely notched a hat trick, John Martin Vince scored twice, and Gossen, Racich, Bryant, Deming, and Curtis each added a goal. The Mustangs carried a dominant 22-0 advantage into halftime.

Out of the break, Stevenson tallied nine more goals in the third quarter. LaRocco completed his hat trick with three additional scores, Eckles added two, and Seth Grossman, Vince, and Bryant each contributed one. Albright scored its first goal of the game at the 7:45 mark, but Stevenson maintained a 31-1 lead heading into the fourth.

In the final quarter, the Mustangs added five more goals to seal the historic win. Ethan Washington, Gary Bavetta, Jesse Resnick, and Blake Austin each recorded their first goals of the season, while Vince added his fourth of the game. Albright scored once more, but Stevenson closed out the 36-2 victory.

Racich led the Mustangs with seven points, while Vince and LaRocco each totaled five. Grossman and McKneely recorded four points apiece, and Bryant, Deming, and Eckles added three each. Connor Dunay dominated at the faceoff, winning 32 of 33 setting a new program record for faceoff wins in a game, breaking a mark held by Scott Steers since 1997. Max Islas also contributed, winning seven of nine faceoffs. Dunay also broke the record of ground balls in a game with 23 on the afternoon, the record was previously held at 18 by Justin Burnette in 2018. In goal, Tyler Merchant, Kieran Banks, and Kaden Snead each saw time and made one save.

The Mustangs will remain on the road, as the team faces Hood College on Wednesday to continue MAC Commonwealth play. First face-off is set for 7 p.m.
