Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson men's lacrosse seniors Colin Dabney, Callum Robinson and Taylor Morgan combined for three goals, one assist, 10 ground balls and eight caused turnovers as the seventh-ranked Mustangs posted a 21-5 Commonwealth Conference victory over Lycoming Tuesday at Mustang Stadium on Senior Night.
Stevenson (12-4, 7-0 MAC) extended its win streak to six overall with its sixth-straight in the series against the Warriors.
Dabney totaled three goals and one assist and now has 84 points in his career. Robinson had five ground balls and four caused turnovers while Morgan added four ground balls and four caused turnovers.
A total of 19 players scored at least one point for the Mustangs, 11 of which came from seniors who accounted for five goals and six assists. Eight of the 16 seniors scored at least one point.
Seniors Sam Wyatt, Dylan Stedman and Justin Buonomo combined to win 19-of-30 faceoffs while senior Jason Moffitt earned his first career start. Wyatt and Buonomo also added one assist each.
Stevenson led 6-1 after one and 11-1 at the half, outshooting Lycoming, 43-8. The Mustangs totaled 82 shots, four shy of their season-high set against Hood on April 7.
With the game tied at 1-1, Stevenson scored 12 unanswered goals to take a 13-1 lead with 10:24 remaining in the third quarter the second goal of the game and fourth of the season from junior Alex Hardwick.
Nine different Mustangs scored during the 12-0 run while another five picked up an assist, including the first of the season for senior Joey Granata.
Senior Connor Curro also had an assist during the run, making an unbelievable diving catch before popping up and finding junior Dylan Muti for his sixth goal of the year with 1:03 left in the second quarter.
Leading 14-3 after three, Stevenson scored the first seven goals of the fourth quarter, including a man-up tally from Dabney, the 22nd of his career.
Robinson, Morgan and senior Kevin Cain, who finished with three saves to earn his fourth career victory, highlighted a defensive effort that forced 36 turnovers while holding the Warriors to just 13-for-31 on clears and 0-for-3 on extra-man opportunities.
Juniors Matt Tompkins and Stephen Banick each totaled six points while Banick increased his career total to 191, leaving him just nine shy of becoming only the sixth player in school history to reach 200.
With 89 career assists, Banick needs just 11 more to become the fifth player to reach 100 which would also make him only the fourth in school history to total 100 goals and 100 assists.
Mike Cooper led Lycoming (2-12, 2-5 MAC) with two goals and one assist while Alex Wylly made 24 saves.
Assured of the top-seed and home field advantage in next week's Commonwealth Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship, the Mustangs wrap up the regular season at Widener on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
Stevenson is looking to finish its conference season undefeated for the third consecutive year. The team is currently 23-0 and has won back-to-back Commonwealth Conference championships since joining the league in 2013.
