Box Score ROCHESTER, Pa. - Stevenson men's soccer freshmen Andrew Catalana and Scott Dorman combined for nine points on four goals and an assist as four players tallied their first career point in the Mustangs 6-0 victory over Penn State Berks Friday afternoon.
It was Stevenson's (3-1) most lopsided win since Nov. 13, 2010 when they defeated Bethany (W.V.) 6-0 in ECAC Division III South Men's Soccer semifinal.
The duo paired up for the Mustang's first goal in the 11th minute as Catalana assisted on Dorman's first career goal. It was also the first career point for Catalana who scored his first career goal less than five minutes later. Classmate Adam Diabagate tallied his first career point with an assist.
Dorman and Catalana traded goals one more time in the first half in the 17th and 23rd minute, respectively. Sophomores Adam Isennock and Landon Easler picked up the assists. It was Isennock's first career point.
Diabagate and Easler scored their first goals of their careers in the second half.
Sophomore Michael Tringali got his second career start in goal as he and junior Daniel McGlone combined for Stevenson's second shutout in four games. McGlone totaled three saves. Matt Cottage totaled six for the Beavers (0-2).
The Mustangs held a 20-6 advantage in shots over Penn State Berks including 13-1 in the first half while also holding a 4-0 edge in corner kicks.
Stevenson returns to action tomorrow, Saturday, September 6 when it travels to Pitt-Greensburg for a non-conference contest beginning at 1:00 p.m.
