Owings Mills, Md. – The Stevenson men's soccer team controlled the pitch from start to finish, overpowering Gallaudet in a 9-0 non-conference victory on Saturday afternoon.
The Mustangs wasted no time, as
Ellis Amo netted his third goal of the season just 3:07 into the match. Moments later,
Gianfranco Vitella doubled the lead before the offense hit a brief lull.
Stevenson quickly regained momentum, tacking on three more goals before halftime to take a commanding 5-0 advantage.
The second half picked up right where the first left off. At the 47:57 mark,
Nico Paz recorded his first collegiate goal, assisted by
Jeffrey Tillman, who went on to add two goals and finish with six points in his first career outing.
Jorge Montecinos closed the scoring with a strike in the 70th minute, securing Stevenson's decisive 9-0 victory. Gallaudet, meanwhile, was held without a shot on goal.
Stevenson will next travel to Elizabethtown College for a non-conference match up on Tuesday, September 10, at 5 p.m.
