Box Score REISTERSTOWN, Md. - Kristin Dehm scored the game-winner with 18 seconds left in the second period while Madyson Moore added an insurance tally to lead New England College to a 2-0 victory over the Stevenson women's ice hockey team on Thursday at Reisterstown Sportsplex.
Stevenson (5-8) was outshot 22-15 and and lost two-thirds of the faceoffs in suffering their third shutout of the season, second-straight at home, at the hands of the Pilgrims' Lauren Hopps who totaled 15 saves in her first career shutout.
New England College (5-4-3) opened the scoring at 19:42 of the second period when Moore netted her third goal and team-leading ninth point of the season off assists from Kristin Dehm and Chelsie Boroski.
Moore's insurance tally came at 7:58 in the third off helpers from Kate Kellar and Morgan Braniff.
Both teams continue to struggle on the power play as the Pilgrims went 0-for-4 in the game and are 0-for-16 over their last six games. The Mustangs went 0-for-1 today and are 1-for-29 in their last nine.
In her team-leading sixth start of the season, freshman Mackenzie Bruch (Hiram, Ga./Boston Shamrocks) finished with 20 saves for Stevenson.
Stevenson and New England College conclude their two-game series on Friday at Reisterstown Sportsplex beginning at 1:00 p.m.
