ANGOLA, Ind. – The Stevenson women's ice hockey team (0-9-1) fell 4-2 to Trine (3-4-1) on Sunday morning.
Trine opened the scoring with one goal in the first period and added three more in the second to take a 4-0 lead. In the third, Meghan Croyle put the Mustangs on the board at the 11:48 mark off assists from Carleigh Barwick and Jalyn Jones. Six minutes later, Kylie Chandler buried a second Stevenson goal with help from Jones and Barwick, but despite the late push, Trine held on for the 4-2 victory.
Barwick and Jones each recorded two assists, while Chandler and Croyle finished with one point apiece. Maggie Sehnert made 18 saves through the first two periods, and Erin Samuelson stopped 10 shots in the third.
The Mustangs now shift back to MAC action as they travel to Wilkes on Friday. Puck drop is set for 3 p.m.
