Box Score FROSTBURG, Md. - Stevenson men's lacrosse senior Jimmy Dailey (Westminster/Winters Mill) continued his franetic scoring pace on Wednesday as he totaled eight points, including a career-high six goals, to lead the No. 3-ranked Mustangs to a 17-4 CAC road victory at Frostburg State in the first-ever meeting between the two teams.
Stevenson (12-1, 5-0 CAC) extended its regular season road winning streak to 17, dating back to a 14-8 loss at No. 12 Lynchburg on Mar. 22, 2008.
Dailey, who has scored five or more points in a game nine times this season, now has 82 through 13 games. With three games remaining before the conference tournament and a regular season game at No. 10 Denison on April 30, he is only 14 shy of the school single season record set by current assistant coach Steve Kazimer in 2010.
The NCAA Division III record for points in a single season is 169 set by Whittier's Brad Downey in 1997 while the CAC record is held by Salisbury's Jason Coffman who had 134 in 1995.
Dailey scored all four of the game's second quarter goals as Stevenson stretched its lead to 9-1 at the half. He finished the first half with six points on five goals and one assist as the Mustangs outshot the Bobcats, 33-7.
One of Dailey's second quarter goals was assisted by senior defenseman Ian Hart (Ridley, Pa./Ridley), who picked up his first point of the season with his fourth career assist. Hart became the 31st different player to score a point for Stevenson this season and the sixth defender.
The Mustangs scored the first four goals of the second half to push its lead to 13-1 before the two teams exchanged goals over the final 19 minutes with Frostburg netting three and Dailey scoring his sixth at the end of the third quarter to provide the final margin.
Freshman Tyler Reid (Clinton, Conn./Xavier) finished with two goals and one assist while seniors Neal Barthelme (Towson/Dulaney), Kyle Moffitt (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) and junior Justin Lea (Elkridge/Mount Saint Joseph) also scored two goals each.
