Box Score MASSAPEQUA, N.Y. - Stevenson men's lacrosse seniors Jimmy Dailey (Westminster/Winters Mill), Richie Ford (Baltimore/Towson) and Kyle Moffitt (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) combined for 13 goals as the Mustangs won their fifth-straight and second on the road, 18-8 over Western New England Saturday at John J. Burns Park.
Stevenson (5-0, 2-0 CAC) led 3-0 after the first quarter with Moffitt netting two. The team has yet to allow a first quarter goal this season, outscoring its opponents, 22-0.
The senior trio scored six of the Mustangs' first seven goals, including three from Moffitt and two from Ford, as they built a 7-2 halftime lead after outshooting the Golden Bears 27-15 and winning 8-of-11 face-offs.
Dailey scored four of Stevenson's seven third quarter goals as the team went on a 7-0 run to extend its lead to 14-3. Freshman Tony Rossi (Towson/Calvert Hall) had two goals and two assists in the quarter and finished with a career-high six points on three goals and three assists.
With four points, Ford now has 245 for his career, just two behind former teammate and current assistant coach Steve Kazimer for second on the school's career list. Dailey is right behind in fourth with 243.
Despite missing the team's first two games, Ford has already totaled 10 goals and 12 points, ranking him fourth and fifth on the team, respectively.
With a career-high five goals, Dailey now has 123 for his career, moving him past Eric Schmith into second on the all-time list behind Ford who now has 168. Dailey has totaled 32 points in just five games this season.
Junior Ian Bolland (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) remained unbeaten in seven career starts, including five this season, totaling 12 saves while senior Evan Douglass (Exeter, N.H./Exeter) finished with three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
Senior Ray Witte (Annapolis/St. Peter and Paul) totaled 10 ground balls and won 14-of-21 face-offs to improve his season percentage to 73.1 percent.
Joe O'Keefe had a goal and two assists to lead Western New England (1-1) while Justin McKinney had one goal and one assist. Eight different players scored one goal each for the Golden Bears and 10 had at least one point. Brewster Knowlton finished with 17 saves.
Stevenson has the week off to prepare for a showdown with No. 11 Lynchburg next Saturday, March 11 at Caves Athletic Complex beginning at 1:00 p.m.
