OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson University men's lacrosse team scored 12 consecutive goals and held Mary Washington scoreless for a stretch of 30:39 as the No. 3-ranked Mustangs blew open a competitive game en route to their ninth-straight regular season win, 17-4 Saturday at the Caves Athletics Complex.

With the win, Stevenson (6-0, 2-0 CAC) tied the school record for most consecutive wins to start a season, tying them with the 2007 squad that also went 6-0 before losing at No. 8 Washington (Md.) on March 21.

The Mustangs have also not lost a regular season game since dropping a 13-12 decision to No. 1 Salisbury at home on Apr. 5, 2008 and are unbeaten in their last six at home.

Sophomore Jimmy Dailey (Westminster/Winter Mills) led the way with three goals and three assists, his second multi-goal game of the season. He also tied his season in assists for the fourth time.

Junior Nic Bevacqua (Booton Township, N.J./Mountain Lakes) had three goals and one assist marking his third game out of the last four with three goals.

Junior Steve Kazimer (Syracuse, N.Y./Henninger) added one goal and two assists.

Mary Washington (4-3, 0-2 CAC) held its only lead of the game for only 44 seconds when Charlie White scored the game's first goal off an assist from Kohl Meyer with 11:21 remaining in the first quarter.

Bevacqua would then net the first of five-straight goals for the Mustangs at 10:28 to tie the game before adding his second with 11:08 left in the half to cap the run and give them a 5-1 lead.

Brent Fisk and Brian Deal would each net goals in the final nine-plus minutes for the Eagles who cut their deficit to two at halftime, 5-3.

However, Stevenson would blow the game open by scoring the next 12-straight goals, outscoring Mary Washington 8-0 in the third quarter and netting the first four of the fourth quarter.

Sean Brown would finally end the streak when he scored off an assist from Evan Weiss with only 1:28 remaining in the game.

The Mustangs doubled up the Eagles in shots 48-24 and forced 26 turnovers while killing off all eight of their extra man opportunities.

Junior Geoff Hebert (Lutherville/Dulaney) posted double digit saves for the third consecutive game with 10. Ryan Kleman had 14 saves for Eagles.

Stevenson continues its four-game homestand on Tuesday when it hosts the College of Wooster in a non-conference game beginning at 1:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to wear green in support of the Mustangs and in honor of St. Patrick's Day.
