NEWTOWN, Pa. - The Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has announced its 2024-2025 All-MAC Men's Ice Hockey Teams.
Junior defenseman
Jack Karlsson has been named MAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year alongside Wilkes' senior defenseman Cole Jungwirth. Karlsson also earned All-MAC First Team honors for the second time in his career. This season, he has recorded 18 points, tallying five goals and 13 assists. He boasts a +9 rating, one power-play goal, and one game-winning goal.
Senior forward
Liam McCanney received All-MAC Second Team recognition after an impressive season, recording 27 points on 15 goals and 12 assists in 26 games. His goal total includes three power-play goals, four shorthanded goals, and two game-winners. Earlier this season, McCanney notched his 100th career point against Lebanon Valley and set a new program record for career points. He now holds the program records for both career points (112) and career goals, the latter of which he broke during the 2023-2024 season.
Junior forward
Blake Benson also earned All-MAC Second Team honors after leading the team with 17 goals and finishing first in the MAC in goal scoring. He has registered 24 points overall, adding seven assists to his goal tally. Benson's 17 goals this season include five power-play goals and two game-winning goals.
This weekend, the Mustangs will compete for their third consecutive and fifth overall MAC title. A victory would also secure an automatic bid to the NCAA DIII Tournament. The Mustangs will face Wilkes University in the inaugural MAC championship game at the Toyota Sportsplex on Saturday at 7 p.m.
