Field Hockey moves to No. 17 in Penn Monto/NFHCA Coaches Poll, holds steady at No. 15 in NCAA NPI Rankings

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson field hockey team moved up to the No. 17 slot in the Penn Monot/NFHCA Poll released for the week of October 27, while remaining in the No. 15 seed in the NPI rankings.

In last week's poll released by the NFHCA, the Mustangs were placed at No. 19, but following victories over No. 23 York and unranked Alvernia, Stevenson earned 166 points in the poll.

The Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III Coaches Poll is a composite ranking of the top 25 teams with a .500 or better record in the nation each week. Each Division III conference is permitted one vote for the ranking each week, with each designated conference head or associate head coach voter serving on the NFHCA Coaches Poll Committee. Polls are announced every Tuesday during the field hockey playing season.

Stevenson is still claiming the No. 15 slot in the NPI, with no change from the week prior. The NPI is a system that houses the division's statistical data and objectively applies the selection criteria to the data based on the sport committee's established weighted criteria. NPI is a combination of the following: winning percentage; strength of schedule; home-away multiplier; quality win bonus; and overtime results (when relevant).
