Field Hockey Powers Past Alvernia in 3–0 Road Victory

Reading, Pa. (October 25) - The Stevenson field hockey team continued its dominant stretch of play with a commanding 3–0 victory over Alvernia on Saturday evening in Reading, Pa., improving to 15–2 overall and 4–1 in MAC Commonwealth play.

The Mustangs wasted no time setting the tone as Lauren Tobin put Stevenson ahead just 1:02 into the match, scoring off a feed from Coco Wallace to give the visitors an early lead. From there, Stevenson maintained steady pressure, generating 10 total shots and seven on goal across four quarters.

In the third quarter, Shae Bennett doubled the Mustang advantage, tallying her eighth goal of the season to make it 2–0. Stevenson sealed the win in the fourth when Kailen Hibshman buried her seventh goal of the year off a perfect setup from Lauren Schulz.

Goalkeeper Jordan Vradenburgh anchored a flawless defensive effort, earning her 14th win and third shutout of the season while facing just one shot on goal. The Mustang back line—led by veterans Sarah Bisson, Sydney Aylward, and Schulz—stifled Alvernia's offense throughout, allowing only seven total shots and one on target.

With the win, Stevenson strengthens its position near the top of the MAC Commonwealth standings. The Mustangs will remain on the road as they next face Hood on Wednesday, October 29, at 6 p.m..
