FREDERICK, Md. — The No. 17 Stevenson field hockey team (16-2, 5-1 MACC) edged Hood (8-9, 3-3 MACC) with a 2-1 overtime victory on Wednesday evening.
The Blazers struck first in the 20th minute to take a 1-0 lead into the half. Gracyn Catalano evened the score in the 34th minute, sending the game into overtime. Catalano then delivered the game-winner in the extra period to secure the 2-1 win for the Mustangs.
Stevenson dominated offensively, outshooting Hood 25-9 overall and 17-2 on goal. Catalano totaled four points on two goals, while goalkeeper Jordan Vradenburgh recorded one save in the win.
The Mustangs have clinched a spot in the MAC Commonwealth postseason, with final seeding to be determined by the remaining conference results this week. Stevenson returns home Saturday to host Albright for Senior Day at noon.
