Field Hockey Celebrates Senior Day with Commanding Win Over Albright

Owings Mills, Md. (November 1) – It was a perfect Senior Day for the Stevenson field hockey team, as the Mustangs closed out the regular season with a dominant 6–0 victory over Albright Saturday afternoon in MAC Commonwealth action.

The Mustangs wasted no time setting the tone, striking early and often. Senior Shae Bennett opened the scoring just three minutes into the first period, igniting the home crowd. Moments later, Abry Klinger took over, scoring back-to-back goals—including one assisted by seniors Lauren Tobin and Coco Wallace—to put Stevenson firmly in control, 3–0, after one quarter.

In the second period, Wallace continued her standout performance, tallying a goal of her own off an assist from Hailey Mertz to stretch the lead to four. Stevenson's offense didn't slow down after halftime, as Kailen Hibshman capitalized on a corner from Lauren Schulz in the third quarter before Taylor Valoczki capped off the scoring less than two minutes later, assisted by Wallace.

On the defensive end, goalkeepers Jordan Vradenburgh and Ollie Winterle combined for the shutout, while the Mustang back line held Albright without a shot on goal. Stevenson dominated possession with 22 total shots—14 on target—and controlled 11 penalty corners.

The Mustangs, now 17–2 overall and 6–1 in MAC Commonwealth play, celebrated their seniors with a statement win to end the regular season. Next, Stevenson turns its attention to the postseason as it hosts No. 4 Hood in the MAC Commonwealth Championship Tournament on Wednesday, November 5, at 5 p.m. at Owings Mills East.
