Owings Mills, Md. (January 20) – The Stevenson University softball team was selected fifth in the 2026 MAC Commonwealth Preseason Poll, as announced by the conference Tuesday Morning.
Eastern claimed the top spot in the poll with 47 points and five first-place votes, followed closely by Messiah with 44 points and two first-place votes. Alvernia and York tied for third with 31 points apiece, while Stevenson rounded out the top five with 26 points. Hood placed sixth with 24 points and one first-place vote, Widener was seventh with 14 points, and Albright completed the poll in eighth with seven points.
With multiple programs receiving first-place consideration and tight point totals throughout the poll, the MAC Commonwealth is expected to deliver another highly competitive season in 2026. The Mustangs' slate will feature three home and four away MAC Commonwealth doubleheaders.
Lead by nine-year head coach of the Mustangs, Julia Culotta, Stevenson sees its first game of the 2026 season on March 5 at Valley Forge and opens MAC Commonwealth action on March 21 against Messiah, aiming to exceed preseason expectations and contend for a conference postseason berth.
