SALISBURY, Md. – The Stevenson University softball team stepped out of conference one last time, taking on eighth-ranked Salisbury on Wednesday.
In the first game, Salisbury (29-3-1) defeated Stevenson (20-12) 5-0 while the Mustangs plated two runs in the second game in a 6-2 defeat.
Game 1 – Salisbury 5, Stevenson 0
In game one, the Sea Gulls scored one run in the first and third, and two runs in the fifth on the way to the win.
Mykaela Getz,
Rebecca Maiorano,
Danielle Mills and
Sahara Ward all hit safely in game one.
Alexis Kirkessner took the loss, striking out four in a complete game appearance.
Game 2 – Salisbury 6, Stevenson 2
After falling behind 3-0 after the first inning, Stevenson struck back with two in the top of the second as
Tessa Boswell scored on a throwing error, while
Caylee Cliett later scored on a RBI groundout by Ward.
Getz, Boswell, Cliett and Ward all hit safely in game two.
Angelica Gurevich took the loss, fanning two in six innings.
Stevenson is scheduled to host Eastern on Saturday.
