Softball ends season against Eastern

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson University softball team closed its 2025 season on Sunday, dropping both ends of a doubleheader to Eastern. 

The Eagles won game one 7-3, while taking out the Mustangs (20-14) 8-0 in five innings in the nightcap.

Game 1 - Eastern 7, Stevenson 3
After falling behind 4-0 in the top of the first, Stevenson was able to get one back in the first as Tessa Boswell drove in Mykaela Getz

Eastern increased its lead to 6-1 in the fourth, before Stevenson added two back in the fifth as Sahara Ward scored on an error. Boswell then drove in her second run of the day as Tobler scored on a single. 

Ward and Boswell finished with two hits, while Tobler, Ava Stafursky and Rebecca Henry all hit safely. 

Alexis Kirkessner struck out five and walked two in the loss. 

Game 2 - Eastern 8, Stevenson 0 (5 innings)
Stevenson was held to two hits in the loss, with Boswell and Mya Lamp hitting safely. 

Angelica Gurevich struck out one and walked two in the loss. 

The 20 wins this season were the most by a Stevenson team since the 2022 season, and a plus-13 win differential from last season. The 20 wins are the fourth best for the Mustangs in program history.
