Leighton joins Men’s Ice Hockey Staff as Assistant Coach

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson Head Men's Ice Hockey Coach, Matt Bruneteau, announces the addition of Connor Leighton to the squad's staff heading into the 2025-26 season.

"We are excited to have Connor joining the Stevenson community. Connor comes to Stevenson with experience at the Division III level. We look forward to him making an instant impact on the future of our program," said Bruneteau.

Leighton comes to Stevenson, most recently from Salve Regina University. At Salve Regina, he served as an assistant coach while planning and executing in-season practices, workouts, film sessions, and meetings.

Leighton brings along strong experience in scouting and opponent evaluation skills to the table, with knowledge of overseeing the recruiting process and planning alumni events.

"I am incredibly honored and thankful for the opportunity to join Stevenson University and the Men's Ice Hockey Team," said Leighton. "I want to thank Coach Bruneteau for giving me a chance to help him lead this program to the next level and develop these student athletes both on and off the ice."

Bruneteau, Leighton, and the men's ice hockey squad will kick-off their season on Friday, October 31 against SUNY Brockport. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m.
