Stevenson A&T Finish Triumphant in meet against West Virginia State

INSTITUTE, W.Va. – Stevenson acrobatics & tumbling (1-3) took on the West Virginia State University Yellow Jackets (1-3) on Wednesday evening. They finished on top for the first time this season and second overall.
 
The Mustangs scored well in the compulsory heat, only tying the Yellow Jackets 3.00 in the tumbling heat.
 
In the acro event, the Mustangs scored higher in all facets, adding a 7.80 score in the five-element with a 9.20 start value. The Mustangs remained consistent in this event, totaling 22.25 in all three heats.
 
The Mustangs tied again in the open heat of the pyramid event, scoring 8.95 on a 10.00 start value. The team totaled 25.05 in all three heats.
 
After the half, the Yellow Jackets did best the Mustangs in the first two heats before the Mustangs added a 7.65 on an 8.75 start value in the open heat of the toss event.
 
In the tumbling event, the Yellow Jackets did not score in the duo and trio pass heats. The Mustangs managed a 7.75 in the first heat and a 4.150 in the second heat. The Mustangs totaled a high 38.425 across the entire tumbling event.
 
In the team event, on a 83.98 start value, the Mustangs have remained consistent scoring above 60.0 with a 60.63, resulting in the final 193.255-136.415 win.
