Mustangs fall in contest to Caldwell on senior day

OWINGS MILLS, Md. — The Stevenson University acrobatics and tumbling team fell to Caldwell University on Sunday afternoon, 216.550–101.000, on senior day.

Stevenson opened the meet in the compulsory event, posting a total of 18.00 points. The Mustangs' strongest showing in the heat came in the pyramid, where they recorded a 6.450, while adding a 6.000 in tumbling. Caldwell built an early advantage with a 26.50 in the event.

In the acro event, Stevenson totaled 12.30 points, highlighted by a 4.900 in the five-element heat. The Mustangs continued into pyramid, producing one of their top event scores of the day with a 19.80, including an 8.100 in the inversion heat.

Stevenson showed improvement in the toss event, finishing with 20.20 points. The Mustangs' top mark came in the open heat with a 7.850, demonstrating increased difficulty and execution.

The tumbling event proved to be a bright spot for Stevenson, as the team posted a 34.700 total. The Mustangs delivered strong performances across multiple passes, scoring a 7.600 in the open pass

Stevenson did not participate in the team event.

The Mustangs return to action on April 9th when they participate in the DIII Tournament in Marshall, Texas.
