Acrobatics and Tumbling fall to Calvin on day two of NCATA meet

MARSHALL, TX. - Stevenson University Acrobatics & Tumbling dropped a close contest to Calvin University, 114.375–111.925, on Friday afternoon. Calvin gained an early edge in the compulsory event, outscoring Stevenson 21.90–18.28, which proved difficult to overcome.

The Mustangs found more rhythm in the pyramid event, where they totaled 22.38 points, highlighted by solid performances in the inversion and open heats. Calvin narrowly edged Stevenson again with 23.90 points. In the toss event, Stevenson remained competitive, scoring 19.83, but Calvin's strong opening heat helped them maintain their lead with 18.30.

Tumbling proved to be one of Stevenson's stronger segments, totaling 31.350 points. The Mustangs were led by a 7.700 in the open pass and consistent efforts across multiple passes. Calvin slightly outpaced Stevenson with 33.925 in the event, preserving their advantage.

Stevenson returns to action for day three of the DIII tournament in Marshall, Texas.
