Mustangs defeat Calvin on first day of NCATA National Meet

MARSHALL, TX. - The Stevenson University acrobatics and tumbling team secured a 112.100–108.250 victory over Calvin University in National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) competition. Stevenson built an early advantage, leading 62.55–56.88 at halftime, and held off Calvin's second-half push to earn the win.

Stevenson's strongest performance came in the compulsory event, where it posted a 21.68 compared to Calvin's 14.85, creating an early lead. The Mustangs continued to show consistency across the acro (20.68) and pyramid (20.20) events, outpacing Calvin in both categories. Stevenson also maintained a slight edge in toss (18.10–18.40) and tumbling (31.450–32.975), doing enough to preserve its overall lead despite closely contested later heats.

The Mustangs return to action tomorrow when they compete on day two of the DIII tournament in Marshall, Texas.
