PREVIEW: A&T Enters Postseason on April 13-15 with Meet against No. 1 University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in NCATA DIII Tournament

OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson acrobatics & tumbling enters its second-ever postseason with a trip to Belton, Texas for the 2023 NCATA DIII Tournament, hosted by the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
 
Hosted by Adrian last year as an invitational, the tournament this year is hosted by the Crusaders, who finished their regular season clinching the first seed. This tournament will bring together the now seven Division III schools for a three-day event. The participating schools include No. 5 Adrian College, No. 3 Concordia Wisconsin, No. 4 East Texas Baptist, No. 1 Mary Hardin-Baylor, Texas Lutheran, No. 2 Trine, and sixth-seeded Stevenson.

DIII TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE
  • Thursday, Apr. 13 – Quarterfinals
    • No. 3 Concordia Wisconsin vs. No. 4 East Texas Baptist – 11 a.m. Central
    • No. 2 Trine vs. No. 5 Adrian – 1:30 p.m. Central
    • No. 1 Mary Hardin-Baylor vs. No. 6 Stevenson – 5 p.m. Central
  • Friday, Apr. 14 – Semifinals
    • Winner Meet 1 vs. Winner Meet 2 – 3 p.m. Central
    • Winner Meet 3 vs. Highest Scoring Non-Winning Team – 6 p.m. Central
  • Saturday, Apr. 15 – Finals
    • Event Finals – 10 a.m. Central
    • Winner Semifinal 1 vs. Winner Semifinal 2 - 6 p.m. Central
 
SCOUTING MARY HARDIN-BAYLOR
  • The Crusaders faced multiple Division III teams in the regular season, including Adrian, Concordia University (Wis.), Trine, East Texas Baptist, and Texas Lutheran.
  • Only losing to Hawaii Pacific University by a close margin, the Crusaders finished on top in all other regular season meets
  • The Crusaders scored the highest this season against Trine, topping them with 269.905 to their 247.945 finish.
  • This will be the first time the teams hold a meet together in each institutions' program history.
