WBVB 2023 Schedule

A Look Back

The Mustangs concluded their 2022 season as national champions, after defeating Berry, Huntingdon, and Hendrix in the Division III AVCA National Championship Tournament. The squad notched the title after a 4-0 sweep over Hendrix.

The Team

This year Head Coach Dave Trumbo welcomes back five senior members of the squad back including Shannon Baily, Abby Bruce, Taylor Jones, Sarah Straub and Juliana Seno. Although the squad lost members in a few pairings following last season, the team has a solid group of returners as well as five first-year members.

First Year Class

What's Ahead?

The team will be facing some new opponents that the squad did not face last year to change the pace of play for this season. With new opponents, the team will also face Berry, Huntingdon, and Hendrix who they had faced in the championship tournament last season. The team will start their campaign on Feb. 24 against Bryant and Stratton College at 12 p.m. and Gaston College at 3 p.m. in Virginia Beach Tournament.

Scouting Virginia Beach

The team will face up against four teams that the Mustangs have not faced before. The team will be facing these four NJCAA opponents in an indoor facility in Virginia Beach, giving the neutral atmosphere for all teams, after each has trained in a different climate during their preseason training.
