GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Stevenson women's beach volleyball team finished third in the AVCA Small Beach College Championships Friday-Saturday. The Mustangs went undefeated in pool play on Friday, defeating Howard Payne and Southern Virginia 3-0. In the Division III Championship, Stevenson defeated Lynchburg and Southern Virginia 3-0, but fell to Berry 2-3.

Howard Payne 3-0 (Pool Play)
1s: Nicolette Fuglestad and Giulia Viglietta took both sets in the first pairing, 21-11 and 21-18.
2s: In the second pair, Elle Means and Jacque Rizzuto won both sets with scores of 21-14 and 21-6.
3s: Kylie DesLauriers and Sima Kahousi won both sets in the third pairing, 21-15 and 21-17.
Southern Virginia 3-0 (Pool Play)
1s: In the first pair, Fuglestad and Viglietta won 21-8 and 21-17.
2s: Means and Rizzuto took both sets with scores of 21-17 and 21-16.
3s: In the third pair, DesLauriers and Kahousi won both sets with scores of 21-19 and 21-13.
Lynchburg 3-0 (Division III Championship)
2s: Means and Rizzuto won both sets, finishing 21-17 and 21-15.
3s: DesLauriers and Kahousi won both sets in the 3s, 21-16 and 21-17.
5s: In the fifth pair, Samantha Simmers and Maren Zepfel won 21-19 and 21-15.
Berry 2-3 (Division III Championship)
1s: Viglietta and Fuglestad battled to three and won 2-1 with set scores of 21-12, 14-21 and 15-10.
2s: Means and Rizzuto fought through three sets, and fell 1-2.
3s: In the third pairing, Kahoussi and DesLauriers battled to three sets, but fell to the Vikings 1-2.
4s: Lenz and Thompson fell in two sets, 7-21 and 18-21.
5s: Zepfel and Simmers slotted two wins in the fifth pairing, 22-20 and 21-14.
Southern Virginia (Division III Championship- Consolation Match)
1s: In the first pairing, Viglietta and Fuglestad won both sets with scores of 21-13 and 21-10
2s: Elle Means and Jacque Rizzuto won in the 2s; 22-20 and 21-19.
3s: In the 3s, Sima Kahoussi and Kylie DesLauriers won both sets with scores 21-12 and 21-13.
