LAKELAND, Fla. – The Stevenson women's beach volleyball team split at the Florida Southern tri-match on Tuesday, defeating Lake Sumter 4-1, and falling to Florida Southern 1-4.
By the Numbers:
Lake Sumter 4-1
First Pair: In the first pairing, Giulia Viglietta and Nicolette Fuglestad won both sets, 21-18 and 21-16.
Second Pair: Elle Means and Jacque Rizzuto won in the 2s 21-14 and 21-13.
Third Pair: Sima Kahoussi and Kylie DesLauriers competed at the third pair, winning 21-18 in both sets.
Fourth Pair: In the 4s, Rachel Lenz and Claire Thompson battled to three sets and won 2-1.
Fifth Pair: Maren Zepfel and Samantha Simmers fell in the fifth pair 0-2.
In Exhibition: Isabella Terra and Scarlett Dunn battled to three sets in exhibition but fell 2-1.
Florida Southern 1-4
First Pair: Viglietta and Fuglestad fell in the first pair, 21-19 and 21-11.
Second Pair: Means and Rizzuto took the lone victory of the match in the 2s, 21-11 and 21-19.
Third Pair: In the 3s, Kahoussi and DesLauriers fell in two sets, 21-11 and 21-13.
Fourth Pair: In the fourth pairing, Lenz and Thomspon dropped in two sets.
Fifth Pair: Zepfel and Simmers fought to three sets again in the 5s, but fell with scores of 22-20, 15-21 and 8-15.
In Exhibition:
Isabella Terra and Scarlett Dun fell in exhibition 8-21 and 21-10.
