Dave Trumbo is in ninth season as the coach of the women’s beach volleyball team. He became the coach in 2016, when the program was launched.

Trumbo has successfully built the women's beach volleyball program, the first in Division III, into one of the top small-college programs in the country.  In 2018, the Mustangs finished second at the inaugural AVCA Small College National Championship, while they posted the first-ever win over a Division I opponent, topping Morehead State. In 2022, the Mustangs earned their first-ever AVCA Small College National Championship with a 4-0 win over Hendrix. That same year, Emily Pellini and Shannon Baily were named Stevenson's first-ever AVCA Small College Beach All-Americans. dave trumbo
