Box Score ARLINGTON, Va. - Stevenson men's basketball sophomore Stefon McCray (Milton, Fla./Archbishop Curley) scored a career-high 21 points, but Marymount (Va.) scored 23 of its 47 second-half points from the free throw line as it posted a 71-60 victory Saturday at Verizon Sports Arena in the season-finale for both teams.
The Mustangs (6-19, 3-13 CAC) were whistled for 22 fouls in the second half which led to 37 free throw attempts for the Saints who also held a 26-11 edge in rebounds in the half.
The first half featured six ties and eight lead changes before both teams were deadlocked at 24-24 at halftime. Marymount's bench accounted for 18 of its 24 points, led by eight from Reed Scott.
The Saints (6-19, 2-14 CAC) opened the second half with a 21-8 run over the first 11:03 to take a 13-point lead, 45-32. Stevenson would cut it to nine on two seperate occasions, but Marymount would scored 13 of its final 19 points from the free throw line over the last 4:23 to preserve the lead and snap a five-game losing streak.
McCray was one of three players in double figures for the Mustangs as senior Greg Collins (Baltimore, Md./Western Tech) and junior Brett Burrier (Westminster, Md./Winters Mill) each had 12 points.
Junior Brandon Carroll (Randallstown, Md./Archbishop Curley) had six points and four of Stevenson's nine steals.
Scott finished with a game-high 20 points for the Saints while Jesse Konadu had 19. The two combined to go 16-for-20 from the free throw line and grabbed 15 rebounds, a game-high nine of which came from Konadu.
Andrew Somuah finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.
