Dailey, Barthelme Lead 15 Different Scorers in 21-7 Victory Over Scranton

Box Score

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Stevenson men's lacrosse senior Jimmy Dailey (Westminster/Winters Mill) totaled a school record eight assists while senior Neal Barthleme (Towson/Dulaney) scored a career-high seven goals to lead 15 different players who had at least one point as the No. 2 Mustangs beat Scranton at Caves Athletics Complex Saturday, 21-7.

Stevenson (9-1) led 6-1 after the first quarter and 14-1 at the half as it outshot the Royals 35-9, won 10-of-17 face-offs and forced 21 turnovers.

Dailey tied a career-high with 10 points, two shy of the school record held by Bob Rineheimer who had 12 versus Lycoming on Mar. 31, 2001. Dailey also had 10 points as a freshman against Mary Washington on Apr. 17, 2007.

With eight assists, Dailey broke the previous school record which he and Rineheimer shared with seven against Mary Washington and Lycoming, respectively. In the process, he also became the school's career leader in assists with 138, surpassing the record held by Eric Schmith '99 who totaled 137 from 1996-99.

In 10 games this season, Dailey has scored five or more points seven times and already has 62, just 33 shy of the single season school record set by current assistant coach Steve Kazimer who had 95 in 21 games last season.

The nation's leader in total goals, assists and points, Dailey has 33 assists this season and is only 22 shy of the school's single season record of 55 set by Schmith in 1998.

Meanwhile, Barthelme's seven goals are tied for third-most in a single game in school history.

Dailey and Barthelme had a hand in 12 of Stevenson's first 17 goals as the team led 17-1 with 10:27 remaining in the third quarter. Five of Barthelme's seven goals were assisted by Dailey, all of which came in a six-goal span over the end of the second quarter and start of the third.

Junior Ian Bolland (Mountain Lakes, N.J./Mountain Lakes) made seven saves in picking up his ninth win of the season before giving way to freshman Colin Rayburn (Bel Air/John Carroll) who made the first two stops of his career in his third appearance while playing the final 22:41.

Junior Brian Badolato (Boonton Township, N.J./Mountain Lakes) picked up his first points of the season with a goal and an assist while senior Kyle Moffitt (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) and freshman Tyler Reid (Clinton, Conn./Xavier) each had two goals and an assist.

Scranton (4-3) was led by Sean Coleman who totaled five points and four assists. Patrick Cefalu won 16-of-26 face-offs and had nine ground balls.

Stevenson hosts a CAC contest with Wesley on Wednesday beginning at 4:00 p.m.
