ARLINGTON, Va. - Shaun Ingram and Patrick
Prewitt went 6-of-6 from the free throw line and combined for 13
points in the second half as Marymount (Va.) outscored the
Stevenson University men's basketball team by 10 points in the
second half en route to a 70-60 victory Saturday night at the
Verizon Sports Arena.
The Saints (6-7, 2-3 CAC) went 11-of-20 from the free throw line
and 11-of-25 from the field in the second half as they used an
11-0 run midway through to take their largest lead of the
game, 63-51.
Ingram and Elvis Ellis each had four points during the run while
the Mustangs (3-11, 2-3 CAC) missed five
consecutive shots and had four turnovers.
Senior guard Greg Woody (Baltimore/Mount Saint
Joseph) led four players in double figures for
Stevenson with a game-high 15 points, 11 of which came in the first
half. Senior guard Chaise Lancaster
(Bowie/Northwestern) added eight of his 10 points in the
half while sophomore guard Matt Leddy (Great Mills/Great
Mills) scored six of his career-high 12.
Over his last three games, Leddy has averaged 7.7 points, over
five points above his season average while making his first two
career starts.
Senior center Kerry Dugan (Sparks/Hereford)
finished with 10 points and seven rebounds for the Mustangs.
Ingram finished with 14 points for Marymount (Va.) while Prewitt
and Chapmen Canady added 10 each. Mike Gray totaled seven points, a
game-high 10 rebounds, three assists and two blocks.
Stevenson returns travels to CAC rival Salisbury on Monday. Game
time is at 8:00 p.m. The Mustangs split the season series with the
Sea Gulls last year.
