Football Adds Nick White as Defensive Line Coach

Owings Mills, Md. (April 3, 2026) – The Stevenson University football program lead by head coach, Josh Hoeg, has announced the addition of Nick White as its new defensive line coach, bringing a strong background in both player development and high-level competition.

White joins the Mustangs after serving as the defensive line coach at Quincy University, where he helped increase production across multiple defensive categories, including sacks, tackles for loss, and forced turnovers. His unit was anchored by Jaylin Vaughn, who earned GLVC Defensive Player of the Year honors along with All-Region and All-American recognition.

Prior to Quincy, White spent the 2024 season as an assistant defensive line coach at the University of Central Oklahoma. During his time there, he helped guide the Bronchos to an 11-2 record and the program's first-ever MIAA Conference Championship. UCO also led the conference in sacks and ranked second in forced fumbles, while advancing to the second round of the NCAA Division II Playoffs.

"Nick is a really good young coach that adds a lot of value to our staff," said head coach Josh Hoeg. "He is from a football family, and you can tell with how advanced he is when it comes to scheme and technique. Nick will do a great job of developing our defensive line."

A decorated collegiate player, White competed as a defensive end at both Gannon University and Monmouth University. He was a two-time Don Hansen All-American, a two-time All-PSAC selection, and earned Gannon Football MVP honors in 2020 and 2021. He concluded his playing career at Monmouth, where he received the program's Defensive "Lombardi" Award in 2023.

White earned his bachelor's degree in sport management and marketing from Gannon in 2022 before completing his master's degree in communication from Monmouth in 2024. He also brings recruiting experience across the DMV and several states, including New Jersey, Oklahoma, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and Texas.

"I'm incredibly excited and truly grateful to join Stevenson as the Defensive Line Coach," said White. "Being from this area, it means everything to come back home and be part of a community I care deeply about and want to see continue to thrive. This is a full-circle moment for me—having once been recruited by Coach Hoeg, it's an honor to now coach alongside him, which speaks volumes about the kind of person and leader he is. I'm fired up to build meaningful relationships, develop our players on and off the field, and do my part to help elevate this program to new heights."

Football runs in the family for White, as he is the son of former NFL defensive tackle Reginald White Sr. and the brother of former CFL wide receiver Reggie White Jr.
