Mustang Men Win Seven Events, Take First Place at Stampede Invitational

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Stevenson men's track and field team won seven events and took first place in the team standings with 190 points at the Mustang Stampede Invitational. The Mustangs also celebrated Senior Day at the meet. 

Talon Romance dominated the field in the javelin with a top toss of 57.17m. Romance currently has the second-best performance (60.23m) in the conference and Mid-Atlantic region. 

Frank McCann, Malachi Griffin, Josh Harris and Fabrice Saint Hillien took first in the 4x400 with a time of 3:25.20. The Mustangs would also win the 4x800 (Victor Leke, Colin Takeuchi
Nsereko Kiwalabye and Anthony Hagan) with a combined time of 10:54.19.

Alexander Reimert clocked a season-best 57.64 in the 400m hurdles, where he picked up the victory. Andrew Parker won the 110m hurdles with a season-best time of 17.31. 

In the 100m dash, Griffin (10.97) and Isaiah Dunn (11.22) took second and fourth place with personal-best times. Christian Eldridge clocked a season-best 11.28 to take fifth. Dunn would also run a 22.97 in the 200.

McCann ran a personal-best time of 48.50 in the 400, which gave him second overall. McCann's time ties him for the second-best time in the conference and fourth in the region. 

Aidan Petraglia clocked a personal-best time of 1:59.06 in the 800, which gave him second place. Petraglia's time also earns him a spot in the MAC Outdoor Championships. Harris took third with a season-best 2:00.94. 

Joshua Tidwell took first in the triple jump with a hop, skip and jump of 12.39m. Cory Cherenfant took second in the long jump with a season-best distance of 6.25m. Tidwell placed third with the same distance of 6.25m. 

Parker Weigel won the pole vault with a top height of 3.90m, while Anthony Hagan crossed the line first in the 5000 (18:16.80).

Zachary Moore placed third in the high jump with a personal-best height of 1.72m.

Shawn Rockey placed fourth in the shot put with a season-best toss of 11.71m. Lloyd Cox placed fourth in the hammer with a top distance of 36.96m.

The Mustangs compete next at the Penn Relays, starting on Thursday, April 23.
