- Made his track debut at the Betty S. Rogers Spring Break Invitational, placing 7th in the 5000 (18:38.71)
- Took 9th in both the 1500 and the 5000 of the Carpenter-Case Invitational
- Secured his first wins at the Stevenson Mustang Stampede Invitational, in the 5000 (18:16.80) and a team effort in the 4x800m relay (10:54.19)
