MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Stevenson women's beach volleyball team 1-1 split on their first day of the Huntingdon Beach Bash, as the team defeated Emmanuel 3-1 and dropped their second match to Loyola University of New Orleans 2-3.
By the Numbers:
Emmanuel 3-1
First Pair: Giulia Viglietta and Nicolette Fuglestad won 2-0, with set scores of 21-19 and 21-18.
Second Pair: Jacque Rizzuto and Elle Means fell 0-2, with set scores of 16-21, and 19-21.
Third Pair: Sima Kahoussi and Kylie DesLauriers took both sets, with scores of 21-15 and 21-18.
Fourth Pair: Rachel Lenz and Claire Thompson won 2-0, securing the sets 21-19 and 21-15.
Fifth Pairing: Scarlett Dunn and Courtney Foose split 1-1, with scores of 11-21, and 21-18. The Pairing did not finish with Stevenson already clinching the 3-1 win.
In exhibition: Maren Zepfel and Isabella Terra split 1-1, finishing with set scores of 16-21 an 21-16.
Loyola University of New Orleans 2-3
First Pair: Giulia Viglietta and Nicolette Fuglestad fought to three sets to snag a 2-1 win, with set scores of 28-30, 21-19, and 15-10/
Second Pair: Jacque Rizzuto and Elle Means dropped both sets, with set scores of 13-21 and 14-21
Third Pair: Sima Kahoussi and Kylie DesLauriers secured a 2-0 win with scores of 22-20 and 21-19.
Fourth Pair: Rachel Lenz and Claire Thompson fell in both sets, finishing with set scores of 16-21 and 15-21.
Fifth Pairing: Scarlett Dunn and Courtney Foose battled to three sets, but fell 1-2. The pair finished with set scores of 22-20, 14-21, and 14-16.
