MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Stevenson Women's Beach Volleyball faced Berry and Wesleyan Colleges this morning to conclude their weekend in Georgia. The Mustangs once more swept Wesleyan, but came back from last night's 5-0 loss to defeat Berry 3-2.
Stevenson started their morning with the Berry rematch, which saw the Mustangs' second, third, and fifth flights clinching victories.
At the twos, Miranda Mueck and Nicolette Fuglestad earned a pair of 22-20 victories. Third pair Sima Kahoussi and Giulia Viglietta went the distance after a 21-12 first set loss, coming back to win 21-19 and 15-13. At the fives, Scarlett Dunn and Claire Thompson earned 23-21 and 21-19 set victories.
In exhibition, Maren Zepfel and Makala Thompson won 21-16 and 21-11.
The Mustangs carried their momentum into their second match against Wesleyan, in which all five flights won each individual set by at least ten points.
The lowest points allowed came from Stevenson's second flight of Miranda Mueck and Nicolette Fuglestad, who allowed just one point against in the first set and two in the second.
The wins elevate the Mustangs to 10-7 on the season. Stevenson's next contests come at the Stevenson Invitational next Friday and Saturday, April 11th and 12th, when they host the University of Lynchburg, Southern Virginia University, and Lancaster Bible College.
