Mustangs split in tri-meet, pick up first season win at American International

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Stevenson acrobatics & tumbling (1-5) secured their first win this season as they split in a tri-meet against American International College (0-5) and Georgian Court University (3-2) on Wednesday evening.

Continuing to improve in the pyramid heat of the compulsory event, the team secured an 8.90. Highlighting the acro event, the Mustangs added an 8.15 on a 10.00 start value in the five-element heat.

Before halftime, the team showed out in two heats, securing an 8.80 on a 9.50 start value in the inversion heat of the pyramid event, and an 8.95 on a 9.50 start value in the open heat.
In the toss event, the team topped Georgian Court in the first two heats, adding a 7.75 on an 8.80 start value in the 450 salto heat. In the next heat, the team secured a new program-high, adding a 7.65 on an 8.65 start value. The previous record was a 7.35 secured in the 2024 season against West Virginia State.

The top score in the tumbling event was a 7.625, made in the final open pass heat on an 8.00 start value.

A final 60.15 score on an 81.45 start value in the team event rounded it out for the Mustangs.
