Box Score OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University closed the door on February by opening up its home schedule with a 13-1 win over Rosemont on Friday afternoon.
The Mustangs (2-3) collected 14 hits on the afternoon with Collin Palmieri going 3-for-4 with four RBI and three runs scored. Nick Griffin, Christopher Manco and Brady Bedway each had two hits on the day.
The 13 runs were more than enough for Stevenson, as four Mustang hurlers combined to strikeout ten and walk just two. Zane Stone got the win, improving to 2-0, as he struck out four and walked one. He gave up one unearned run on the day.
Mason Gove tossed two innings of one hit baseball, while Dhruv Indelicato and Connor Fox each struck out two in one inning of work.
After spotting Rosemont a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, Stevenson took the lead for good in the bottom of the first as Palmieri singled home Nick Griffin, followed by Palmieri later scoring on a sacrifice fly by Kaige Garrity.
In the second, Stevenson scored three runs as Brady Bedway scored on a fielders choice by Dalton Reinhart. Reinhart would later score on a RBI single by Liam Houghton, with Palimeri stealing home later in the inning.
A seven-run fifth was highlighted by a two-run double by Griffin and a two-run single by Palmieri.
In the eight, AJ Viccora singled him Michael McGarry for the 13th and final run of the game.
Stevenson will host Washington College on Saturday in a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
