Mustangs fall short at Marymount

Box Score

ARLINGTON, Va. - Stevenson Women's Soccer traveled south this evening for a non-conference matchup against Marymount University. The Mustangs would recover from a one-goal deficit in the second half, but the hosting Saints would ultimately pull ahead for a 2-1 victory.

The Saints brought the offense in the first half, tallying five shots and limiting the Mustangs to three. First year keeper Ava Patterson made two saves in the first 45, but Marymount was able to take a 1-0 lead.

The second half began with a Stevenson corner kick that turned into sophomore Madison Rytina's second goal of the season.

Though the Mustangs tied the game, Marymount scored for the second and final time just minutes later.

Patterson made three more saves in the second, having faced ten shots overall.

The loss puts the Mustangs at an even 1-1-1 heading into their next match. Stevenson will travel to St. Mary's College of Maryland for a 7 p.m. kickoff on Wednesday, September 11.
