OWINGS MILLS, Md. – The Stevenson University women's soccer team delivered a commanding performance Wednesday evening, defeating Neumann University, 3-0, at Owings Mills East. Kailyn Beall led the Mustangs with a pair of second-half goals, while Faith Moroney added a first-half tally to secure the shutout victory.
The Mustangs controlled the offensive tempo from the opening whistle, creating several scoring opportunities throughout the first half. Karly Sheahan tested Neumann goalkeeper less than a minute into the contest, while Beall followed with two shots on goal in the opening 16 minutes.
Stevenson's persistence paid off in the 42nd minute when Moroney broke the scoreless tie at the 41:16 mark. Mehar Singh provided the assist, giving the Mustangs a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime.
The Mustangs carried their offensive momentum into the second half, wasting little time extending their lead. Following several early scoring opportunities, Beall found the back of the net at the 52:14 mark off an assist from Jenna Keener, doubling Stevenson's advantage to 2-0.
Just over eight minutes later, Beall struck again, recording her second goal of the evening at the 60:36 mark. Keltie Goin and Sheahan combined to provide the assists, extending the Mustangs' lead to 3-0 and putting the contest firmly in Stevenson's control.
Defensively, the Mustangs remained composed throughout the final stretch, limiting Neumann's opportunities and preserving the clean sheet. Goalkeeper Isabella Serano recorded five saves across 90 minutes of action to secure the shutout.
Beall paced the Stevenson offense with five shots, including four on goal, while Sheahan contributed four shots and an assist. Moroney finished with one goal, while Singh, Keener and Goin each registered an assist.
