LAKEWOOD, N.J. – Stevenson acrobatics & tumbling (1-6) ended their tri-meet against the Georgian Court University Lions (1-6) and the Long Island University Sharks (5-4) on Friday evening with a final score of 177.075.
Despite scoring low to start off the meet, the Mustangs did manage an 8.75 in the pyramid heat of the compulsory event.
In the acro event, on a 9.55 start value, the Mustangs totaled an 8.40 in the five-element heat, comprised of sophomore top/tumbler
Annabelle Rossow, sophomore base/tumbler
Mariana Ruiz, sophomore base
Robin Scroger, and first-year base
Jaidan Jacobs. This score topped the Lions, who managed a 7.95 in the same heat.
Before the half, the Mustangs topped the Lions in the synchronized heat of the pyramid event with a 7.45 on a 9.50 start value. Continuing to thrive in the open heat, the Mustangs added a 9.15 on a 10.00 start value.
Although still unable to score over the Sharks, the Mustangs narrowly finished on top of the Lions in the synchronized heat of the toss event, finishing with a 6.65 on an 8.80 start value.
In the tumbling event, the Mustangs finally outscored the Sharks in the duo pass. Rossow and first-year top/tumbler
Trinity Poltrack managed a 7.650 to their opponent's 7.350. The Mustangs bested the Lions once again in the open pass, with Rossow finishing with an 8.200 to the Lions' 7.100.
With a 92.34 start value in the evening's team event, the Mustangs managed a final 52.80, bringing it all together to the final score.
