OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Stevenson acrobatics & tumbling (0-3) took on the Morgan State University Bears (1-2) in their first-year program at home on a rainy Saturday afternoon. The Mustangs showed early meet improvements, but ended just short.
In the pyramid heat of the compulsory event, the Mustangs managed a 9.350 out of 10 possible compared to the Bears managing a 8.950. In the very next heat, the Mustangs carried the momentum, topping the Bears with an 8.050 score.
The Mustangs found a few more improvements as the meet progressed. In the seven-element heat of the acro event, the Mustangs added a final 7.4500 showing with a 9.250 start value. This heat comprised of sophomore top/tumbler

Allyson Ozimek finished with a 8.500 on a 9.500 start value. The Mustangs trailed in the open heat with a 9.600 finish on a 10.000 start value.
In the synchronized heat of the toss event, the Mustangs finished in the lead once again with a 6.950 finish on an 8.650 start value.
Despite scoring lower than the Bears in the tumbling event, Rossow trailed the Bears by .350 in the open heat with an 8.400 score on an 8.500 start value.
To round it out, the Mustangs finished with a 64.13 showing in the team event, 0.54 off the highest record. It all added up to the final 225.025-195.855 win for the Bears.
