MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - Stevenson Women's Beach Volleyball rounded out their showing at the Berry College Division III Only tournament with a matchup against the hosting Knights. The Mustangs came away with a 3-2 victory to leave the tournament undefeated and register their 15th win of the season.
Sam Simmers and Olivia Simon were the first duo to finish, bringing home 21-13 and 21-15 wins to put the Mustangs ahead. Maddie Clouser and Hannah Naja followed with a 2-0 win of their own, going 21-19 and 21-15.
The match would come down to the third flight, and Taylor Jones and Nicolette Fuglestad came out on top. After falling by just two points in the first set, Jones and Fuglestad battled back to a decisive 21-14 win in the second to force the tie-breaking set. They clinched the Mustangs' winning set with a 15-13 win.
The win is Stevenson's second 3-2 decision against Berry this season.
The Mustangs improve to 15-5 overall with a four-match win streak. They will look to extend that streak next weekend in Lynchburg, Virginia when they take on Liberty University, the University of Lynchburg, and Richard Bland College. Action is slated to start at 5 p.m. on Friday, March 29th.
