Women’s Soccer opens MACC play with tie at Hood

FREDERICK, Md. - Stevenson Women's Soccer traveled to Hood College this evening for their MAC Commonwealth opener against the Blazers. Despite several scoring opportunities for both teams, the Mustangs and Blazers would finish with a 0-0 draw.

The Blazers were good for 13 shots on the day, four of which found their way to the net. Sophomore goalkeeper Alison Halstead denied each attempt, finishing the match with three saves and her second straight shutout.

Stevenson totaled seven shots, led by graduate student Kelly Schultz with two. Colleen Fanning, Madison Rytina, Kayla Gerbes, Kamille Purcell, and Madison Simard each contributed one shot.

The Mustangs now stand at 2-5-4 overall heading into another non-conference contest on Tuesday. Stevenson will travel to Salisbury University for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
