HARRISONBURG, Va. - Both
Sean Dowd and
Ryan Thomas are tied for second overall and two strokes back of the leader after shooting a 3-under-par 69 in the opening round of the Kinder-Williams Invitational, held at the Lakeview Golf Club. Dowd's opening round score was a season best, while Thomas' was the best of his young career.
The Mustangs are second in the team standings with a score of 286 - just one stroke back of the leaders, Hampden-Sydney "B".
Brett Ostroski shot a season-best 73 (+1), while
Leo Perez opened up his career with a 3-over-par 75.
Federico Lombardo shot an 86 for the Mustangs.
Jack Barnes of Hampden-Sydney "B" leads the field by two strokes after shooting a 67 (-5).
The second and final round takes place on Tuesday, September 12.
