Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

York, Pa. – The Stevenson baseball team lost both ends of Sunday's doubleheader and was swept 0-3 on the weekend by York College.

Following the losses, the Mustangs fall to 10-9 overall and 4-5 in the commonwealth. York goes on to improve to 12-10 overall and 8-4 in the conference.

Game One

The Mustangs scored their only runs of the game in the top of the third inning. Billy McAdam singled and Jonathan Brandt walked to put men on base. Nick Tamberino then doubled down the left line, driving both runners home.

York scored a run in the fourth and then again in the seventh to tie the game and sent it into extra innings. Both Spartan runs came off Stevenson starting pitcher Sam Downs. Downs struck out seven, giving up a lone walk and a pair of runs in 6.2 innings of work.

The Spartans won the game in the eighth as a sacrifice fly drove home the winning run.

Game Two

The Mustangs got on the board early in game two. After McAdam popped out to left field, Brandt and Amani Jones singled. Tamberino then reached on a fielder's choice to score Brandt; Jones was out at second.

In the second with runners on first and second, Dylan Scott singled through the left side scoring Tommy Holcomb. With Trent Smoot on third, Scott stole second and Smoot scored as the catcher threw the ball into the outfield on the play.

York took momentum in the fourth as Jacob Deimling hit a solo home run to left center. Emidio Bucci hit a two-run home run in the next inning to tie the game 3-3. The Spartans scored two more runs before the innings end.

Jones doubled to center field in the seventh and was driven in by a Tamberino single to the same location. With a runner on, the Mustangs fell just short of tying the game.

The Mustangs return home for a single nine-inning contest against Hood College on Tuesday, April 4 beginning at 3:30 p.m. York will host No. 2 Salisbury on Tuesday, April 4 at 3:30 p.m.
