The Mustangs started strong, trailing the Warriors with a 9.40 score in the pyramid heat of the compulsory heat. They then went on to score a 9.10 in the toss heat compared to the Warriors' 9.30 score.
With a 9.95 start value in the seven-element heat of the acro event, the Mustangs managed an 8.75, totaling a 22.60 in the second event.
Before the half, the Mustangs topped the Warriors with a 9.30 score in the inversion heat of the pyramid event, compared to the Warriors' 8.60 score.
In the tumbling event, the Mustangs thrived in the trio pass, aerial pass, and open pass, topping the Warriors in all three. First year #10
Mackenzie Holland, Carpenter and Despres managed a 7.800 score in the trio pass. Holland then went on to score an 8.575 in the aerial pass while Despres notched an 8.800 score, bringing the Mustangs' event total to 42.175 compared to the Warriors' 40.400.
