BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Stevenson women's beach volleyball team grabbed 4-1 wins over Warner University and Webber International University on Tuesday afternoon, slotting a four-game win streak.
In the match up against Warner,
Shannon Baily and
Taylor Jones grabbed two huge victories finishing set one, 21-7 and set two 21-11.
Miranda Mueck and
Rileigh Kimball picked up a 21-7 and 21-13 win in the second flight. In the third pairing,
Nicolette Fuglestad and
Makala Thompson battled through three sets to snag a 2-1 win. In flight #4,
Maddie Clouser and
Hannah Naja took two close wins in both sets, 21-19 and 21-15.
Sam Simmers and
Caleigh Bernota fell in a hard-fought three sets in the fifth flight. In exhibition,
Juliana Seno and Sara Straub notched 21-18 and 21-11 victories.
Against Webber International, Baily and Jones fell 1-2 in a tough three set match in the first flight. Mueck and Kimball sat in the second pairing, coming back to grab the second and third set to take a 2-1 win, remaining undefeated on the week. In flight #3, Fuglestad and Thompson slotted a 21-14 and 21-18 win. Clouser and Naja continued their four-match win streak on the week with a 21-19 and 21-14 win in the fourth flight. In the fifth flight, Simmers and Bernota won the first set 21-19 and fought through a long second set to take a 27-25 win.
The Mustangs will prepare to face up against Saint Leo University and Eckerd College on Thursday. The squad will take on Saint Leo at 10 a.m. and Eckerd at 12 p.m.
