Box Score STEVENSON, Md. – Stevenson junior Dylan Scott cranked his first-career homerun as the Stevenson baseball team (6-19-1, 1-2 MAC) fell to York College (Pa.) (12-11, 2-1 MAC) by a score of 14-1 Tuesday evening at Sugar Field.
York took advantage of their first plate appearance, scoring four runs in the top of the first. Robby Elzinga led off with a double to left field and scored the first Spartans run when Jack Barry reached on an error. York would add three walked-in runs in the inning to take an early 4-0 lead.
The Spartans extended their lead in the top of the second when Andrew Santarpia singled up the middle to plate a runner from second.
Dylan Scott put the Mustangs on the board in the bottom of the second with a solo homerun to left field, the first of his career.
York would add lone runs in the third and fifth innings. In the top of the fifth, Jakubek poked a two out double and scored on an infield single by Elzinga. York seemed poised to add more runs but Dylan Scott dove to make the catch in the right-center alley to end the inning.
York cracked the game open, posting a six-run sixth to take a 13-1 advantage. Capobianco sent a ball over the fence in left center for a two-run homerun. Doubles from Robby Elzinga and Brendan Martin scored two runs each.
York added one more tally in the top of the ninth when Brendan Martin doubled down the left field line.
Numbers and Notes

- Matt Hinderliter turned in a strong relief effort on the mound going 2.1 innings without surrendering a run with one hit and one strikeout.

- Stevenson and York meet again on Friday April 8 in the next game for both teams. First pitch is slated for 3:30pm.
