SAINT LEO, Fla.- The Stevenson beach volleyball team split their matches in Florida this afternoon. The Mustangs defeated Truett McConnell, 5-0 before falling, 3-2 to Saint Leo.
Against NAIA Truett McConnell, Shannon Baily and Emily Pellini posted a 22-20, 21-17 win at No. 1 while Piper Connors and Taylor Jones prevailed 21-7, 21-8 at No. 2. Kayla Vaeth and Hannah Naja took a 21-13, 21-13 win at No. 3 and Olivia Simon and Maddie Clouser were 21-10, 21-13 winners at No. 5. Ellie Cast and Makala Thompson were victorious at No. 5 winning, 21-14, 21-11.
Against DII Saint Leo, Connors and Jones were 21-13, 21-19 winners at No. 2 while at No. 4 Rileigh Kimball and Simon rallied for a 21-15, 17-21, 18-16 triumph. At No. 5 Saint Leo, rallied for a 19-21, 21-19, 15-10 win over Cast and Thompson.
The Mustangs continue their Florida trip this Saturday, March 19th as they travel to Florida Southern for a tri-match.
